Summary: New Delhi [India], Aug 28 (ANI): In order to fill vacant seats in AC Chair Car and Executive Class of some selected trains, the Ministry of Railways on Wednesday announced a discounted fare scheme to be rolled out by the end of September.

Equipped with a 5,500 HP electric locomotive, two executive AC chair cars and eight AC chair car coaches, the train has a high- power emergency braking system and a GPS- based passenger information system.

One-way fare of the air-conditioned chair car has been fixed at Rs 690, while a passenger will be required to spend Rs 1,365 for the executive class.

The hike is 10 paise per kilometre for air conditioned chair car as well as three tier classes, Bansal told reporters here.

However, on the other side, the Jaipur-Delhi non-stop special train, that has now been stopped and replaced by the new one, had both AC and Non-AC coaches, costing only Rs.99 for Non-AC Chair Car and about Rs.

While replying to the railway budget presented by his predecessor Dinesh Trivedi last week, Roy said his ministry was withdrawing the increase in fares in the sleeper, suburban, ordinary second class, AC Chair Car and AC 3-tier classes.

The order comprises 19 power car, 17 First AC chair car, 17 Second AC chair car and 67 non-AC coaches.

" At present, RAC passengers are not provided with bedroll facility in AC classes ( except AC chair car) since one berth is shared by two RAC passengers," the railway ministry said in a statement.
