The Anti-Terror Act, which has just passed the Canadian House of Commons, gives the
Canadian Security Intelligence Service the right to make "preventive" arrests in Canada.
The legislation gives the
Canadian Security Intelligence Service more power to thwart suspected terrorist plots and not just gather information about them, as well as extend the amount of time suspects can be kept in preventative detention.
